We decided to include a live twitter feed which would appear at the side of the webpage as we felt that this would make the recognition of the film better, As by having a twitter feed it means that when people view the website and look at the twitter feed they are able to see what other people are saying about the film and contribute towards the discussion if they want too. It also means that they are able to see 'The Ripper's Shadows' progress as we regularly update the twitter feed with our progress throughout the construction of the trailer, poster and website creation.
We decided to include Facebook and blogger icons within the website as this would mean that the users would have easy access to our social networking pages so that they will be able to join our Facebook page and read our blog for the progress throughout the project. The icons also mean that we are able to gain more audience feedback as the icons will allow people to comment on our film marketing package as they can comment on blog posts and post on the Facebook wall.
An example of the social networking icons is the sinister film website, which includes its social networking site links at the bottom of the page allowing the users of the website to access these pages with one click.
The trailer has been positioned in the bottom corner of the website as this way it does not cover the background image which we chose. It has been given ragged edges to match the horror genre of our film. Although the size of the trailer is small, it can be expanded by the viewer so that they can have the full effect of watching the trailer big screen.
These page headings have been chosen as they allow the audience to explore the four maid areas of the film which are the four areas in which we have chosen. Each heading includes information on that topic, for example the gallery includes images of the progress in the construction of our film trailer, as we have shown images such as special effects makeup.
The ratings have been added to the film website to show the popularity of the film and to make the users of the website become more interested in seeing the film as we have used current media products which best suit our target audience. They appear at the side of the website as they are important for the audience to see, so by making them appear at the side of the website it means that they can be seen easier and with the black background, also more clearer.
Background of the website
We decided to continue in using the image which appears on the film poster as it means that this image will become iconic and people will associate this image with the film as it appears both on the official film website and the film poster. The image is aligned in the centre of the page as we wanted this to be the main focus of the website as all the information appears around this image.
